Business Masterclasses Autumn 2021

Do you run a business in Richmondshire? Are you thinking about starting one?

If so, you're in the right place: a free package of business support is available this autumn, thanks to Richmondshire District Council.

Places are limited, so read on to find out how to apply.

Designed especially for enterprises in the area, this latest offering from Business in Richmondshire comes direct to your home or office.

There are two programmes:

  • Growth for companies that have been trading for more than a year and looking to bounce back after the uncertainty of Covid and Brexit;
  • Start-up for people thinking about going into business or firms that are less than a year old and, having survived the last few months, are looking to take things to the next level.

The former runs over seven weeks; the latter is an intensive weekend.

Whichever package you choose, Business in Richmondshire has put together a compelling range of support:

  • short courses on key business topics – such as marketing, sales, and cashflow – that you can listen to or watch in your own time;
  • live Zoom calls to network with other local businesses, ask questions of industry experts, and apply your new skills;
  • radio shows with interviews, top tips, and guidance for SMEs in the area; and
  • checklists, templates, links, and other resources to make sure that your business ends the year on a high.

There is a strict maximum of 15 businesses for each programme, which are allocated on a first-come, first-serve basis – so it’s essential that you apply now. It’s free and takes less than a minute.

Just complete the form on this page. All we need is your name and email address; leave the rest for later, if you like.

If you're still undecided, you can find out more about the programme below or ask us questions by clicking the support link.

We look forward to seeing you soon!

Frequently Asked Questions

Who is eligible?

Any business based in Richmondshire or any resident of the district wanting to set up in business. You must be 18 years or older.

How much does it cost?

The programme is entirely free. It is funded by Richmondshire District Council.

What are my options?

You can choose one of two pathways: Growth (weekly) or Start-up (weekend). The first has weekly Zoom calls, but you can listen to or watch the pre-recorded material at your own pace; the last is held over an intensive weekend.

Can I only attend the odd workshop?

We're asking you to commit to the full programme of seven or eight workshops, so you get to know everyone on the programme.

Do I have to do any work outside of the Zoom call?

No, but we hope you listen to or watch the material as it will help you get the most out of the course.

Do I have to participate in the Zoom calls?

Yes. You will be expected to work with other delegates on the calls. Unless there is a good reason (and we realise there might be) you will also be asked to turn on your camera.

Will I get accreditation for taking part?

Yes, the course is accredited with SFEDI®/IOEE®.
